Custom T Post Heavy Duty Tire Rack
I needed a shelf that was 3.2m long, unfortunately I couldn't find one to buy. I needed the specs to be spot on. So I decided to make one.
I went with my own specs.
- SHS 65x65x4mm @ 4m
- RHS 65x35x4mm @ 8m
Cuts were 1.78 for the posts and 3.16 for the rails, .6m for the T section.
So the cuts I did had to be spot on as well, I converted a standard drill into a drill press. Had to make sure the holes were aligned.
Both cuts and holes were within +/-1mm as I was using M12 in a 13mm hole.
The only issue I had was the angle that I dyna bolted to the ground. The dyna bolts never go in straight, hammer drill bounced around too much.
So I had to use a step drill to open the mounts from 13mm to ~20mm. As the dyna bolts wouldn't line up.
